San Francisco Tourist Advisory

Posted by G.A. Matiasz on June 1, 2007

If you’re planning to visit our fair city anytime soon, please, don’t ask this police officer for directions.

This is a public service announcement.

Officer Jesse Serna reported using force 57 times and injuring 31 citizens during the 1996-2004 time period. Chronicle photo, 2004, by Paul Chinn.

  1. Last summer I visited Malta. It is an island in the middle of the Mediterranean. Consisting of 7 islands it is an ever increasing popular tourist resort due to it’s tropical climate, exciting nightlife, and a history dating back thousands of years. I have been there last year and it’s wonderful
I suggest you visit (link deleted because it is basically advertising) to get a glimpse of this beauty

Unfortunately, crime is still rampant in San Francisco…yet people focus on news like this? Wow! Has he even been proven guilty or are you rushing to judgement (perhaps he is simply doing his job….i know several officers (no SF) that say they would avoid “situations” where there could be perspection that they did something wrong! Can you imagine that?!!? Soft police officers letting crime go? Shouldn’t that be the focus? Of the 57 uses of force and the 31 injured citizens, how many were the RESULT of the “citizen/criminal” doing something illegal. Perhaps if “citizen/criminal” wasn’t the CAUSE, this officer wouldn’t have to use force. I’m cool with calling this guy an asshole and getting him off the street – becuase I don’t live in SF. However, if you focus on this nonsense…crime will continue. Up to you. Good luck!

Woahhh… maybe you should look at the fact that this guy has been proven guilty in the court of law and has cost the SF police department more than $195,000 with still more cases pending. IF you would like to give up your right to be free from police brutality, goto North Korea. However this is America and we don’t stand for that here. 100% guarantee with that statement that you are undereducated, overweight, and overopinionated…. and most likely are married to a cop that might very well be a good cop, but don’t defend bad cops. It shows how poorly informed and biased you are.

  3. We absolutely love your blog and find many of your post’s to be what precisely I’m
looking for. can you offer guest writers to write content
for you personally? I wouldn’t mind producing a post or elaborating on most of the subjects you write related to here. Again, awesome website!
